Philip Island Spring Super Sprint

Sunday 23rd September 2018

We return to the ever-popular and magnificent Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit for our Spring Super Sprint. We have secured the higher 95dBA noise limit for this event. With this being the second last event of the competition year, and interstate Porsche representation already arranged, we are expecting a big roll-up.

Competition Class

Evidence of prior experience or satisfactory completion of a high-performance driver-training course is a Club requirement for timed Competition classes. All competitors will require a Dorian transponder to be fitted to their cars for official times to be recorded. Please make sure they are properly fitted and charged. Dorians can be hired for the day but must be booked at the time of entry.

Entrée Class (numbers limited) FULLY BOOKED.  Email Carly to go on the waiting list administrator@pcv.com.au .

Subject always to the days program going satisfactorily, and the discretion of the Clerk of Course on the day, Entree Class will be run at Phillip Island. Entree is the ideal racetrack introduction for new members and those who haven't competed before. Entrants in the Entrée class get separate sessions of untimed practice. Mentors will be provided from experienced club members. No advanced driver training, fire extinguishers or Dorians are required. All you need is a CAMS Level 2S Licence, an approved helmet, suitable clothing (see Supplementary Regulations) and a roadworthy vehicle. Please note Entrée Class numbers are strictly limited. Click Here for further Entree class information.

Catering

The Phillip Island kiosk will be open and serving hot food, sandwiches and coffee throughout the day.

PCV Marshalling Team

If you are available to assist with this event or are new and would like to give marshalling a try you can register as a “Track Marshal” through the kiosk link above and you will be contacted. Alternatively, you can contact Gordon Johnstone via email if you are available to assist with this event, or if you have any general enquiries.

Passenger Laps during Lunch Break

Subject to the decision of the Clerk of Course on the day, passenger laps will be run during the lunch break. Numbers will be strictly limited. All Marshals that want rides must be catered for as a priority and all passengers must sign appropriate disclaimers and attend briefings.

Open Pit Afternoon Session

If participants’ numbers drop off by mid-afternoon (common on many of our sprint days), the Clerk of Course may consider the option of having an open pit from 3:30pm until close at 4:30pm. This open pit session may be declared either timed or untimed. If untimed, entrants may be permitted to take another entrant with them on track or have another entrant drive their car for training or evaluation purposes. All entrants that ride as a passenger must sign a disclaimer. A final decision on exercising this option will be made on the day.
