Please take special note of the change of venue from recent years, which is due to the substantial building works underway at Porsche Centre Melbourne.  Our chosen venue was built in 1880 and is a grade one heritage listed building with enormous character and history.  It is managed by the City of Melbourne and often used to host a variety of community events.

Tuesday 20th October, 2015

Brian Tanti 550 Spyder Replica Project plus Surprise Presentation

Each year the October Club Night includes the Club’s Annual General Meeting.  We’ll begin a little earlier than usual with the Meeting at 6.30pm, to allow plenty of time for our other activities.  From 7:00pm we’ll commence our Club Night programme, offering a seated buffet food menu and beverages (including bubbles!).

Due to the ongoing renovations of Porsche Centre Melbourne, our club night will be held at the historic 1880, grade one heritage-listed North Melbourne Meat Market building that boasts enormous character and history.

PCV are delighted to have secured an amazing opportunity to have current C.E.O of the AutoHorizon Foundation and former Director Fox Car Collection Melbourne, Brian Tanti as our feature presentation for our final club night of 2015.

Those familiar with the magnificent Fox Museum collection would be aware of Brian’s astounding automotive and restoration skills that have been honed over the past 33 years that began with his UK training that lead to his career as a coachbuilder on rare classic and historic -automotive restoration /proto type industries, in both Australia and Europe.

Brian has been described by Lord Elgin World President of the 20-Ghost Club, the oldest Rolls Royce Club in the World, as “without peer and certainly the best he had seen”. Mr. Jurgen Schremp, past Chairman of Daimler Chrysler described Brian as “one of the best car builders in the world”.  Brian was also Invited by Horacio Pagani of Pagani Automobili SPA, and builders of the Pagani Zonda supercar, to train and up-skill his own son.

Brian’s presentation will be on his current project, the creation of a Porsche 550 Spyder Replica, and will take us through the phases including the build planning, tooling development, fabrication & coach building.

Our second feature for the evening will be one of surprise to our evening’s attendees but promises to be most enlightening and entertaining that will perfectly encapsulate our clubs magnificent and rich 40 year history.

In addition, there will be the usual opportunities to enjoy catch up with friends, meet new members and hear about competition results, social news and forthcoming events.
